Terms of Service

Last Updated: October 10, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

Welcome to TrainerMatch ("we," "our," or "us"). By creating an account on, accessing, or using trainermatch.app (the "platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms") and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our platform.

2. Description of Service

TrainerMatch is a platform that connects clients seeking personal training services with personal trainers. We facilitate introductions and connections but do not provide personal training services ourselves. It is free for clients. Trainers pay for the client introductions they choose to unlock.

3. User Accounts and Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use our platform. By creating an account, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement and that all information you provide is accurate, current, and complete.

4. Terms for Clients

4.1 Prohibited Conduct

Clients are strictly prohibited from using the platform to:

  • Send spam, unsolicited advertisements, or promotional materials to trainers
  • Solicit trainers for business opportunities unrelated to personal training services
  • Harass, abuse, threaten, or intimidate trainers
  • Create fake or misleading profiles
  • Use automated systems, bots, or scripts to access the platform
  • Collect or harvest trainer information for any unauthorized purpose
  • Impersonate another person or entity
  • Engage in any fraudulent, deceptive, or manipulative behavior

4.2 No Service or Outcome Guarantees

TrainerMatch provides a platform for connecting clients with potential trainers, but does not guarantee the quality of any Trainer's services or any particular fitness, health, or performance outcomes. Clients are solely responsible for:

  • Interviewing Trainers to determine fit for the Client's needs
  • Confirming details of the Trainer's qualifications and credentials

4.3 Account Integrity

Client accounts must represent real individuals genuinely seeking personal training services. We reserve the right to verify the authenticity of client accounts and inquiries at any time.

4.4 Accurate Information

Clients agree to provide truthful, accurate information about their training goals, budget, location, and preferences. Trainers pay to receive client introductions, so false or misleading introductions cause them real financial harm.

4.5 Enforcement

We do not tolerate spam, solicitation, or abuse. If a client violates these Terms, we may remove their introductions, suspend or permanently close their account, and report illegal activity to the appropriate authorities.

4.6 What Trainers Receive

When you send an introduction to a trainer, that trainer receives the information described in our Privacy Policy, including your contact details once they unlock your introduction. Trainers are independent businesses, and from that point they are responsible for how they use your information.

5. Terms for Trainers

5.1 No Guarantee of Success

TrainerMatch provides a platform for connecting with potential clients but does not guarantee business success, a specific number of clients, or any particular outcome. Trainers are solely responsible for:

  • Converting leads into paying clients
  • Providing quality personal training services
  • Managing client relationships
  • Growing and maintaining their business
  • Complying with all applicable laws, licenses, and certifications

5.2 Lead Quality and Pay-Per-Lead Model

Trainers pay $12 per lead to unlock full client contact details. A "lead" is defined as a client inquiry submitted through our platform. We make reasonable efforts to verify lead authenticity and filter spam, but:

  • Not every lead will result in a paying client
  • Client interest levels may vary
  • Clients may choose other trainers or decide not to proceed
  • Lead quality depends on factors outside our control

Payment for a lead is final and non-refundable, except in cases of verified fraud or system error as determined solely by TrainerMatch, in which case TrainerMatch may provide a credit or a refund in its sole discretion.

Client information you receive through the platform may be used only to respond to that client's inquiry and to provide services they ask for. You may not sell it, share it, or add it to marketing lists without the client's permission, and you are responsible for keeping it secure.

5.3 Listing Standards

To keep a listing on TrainerMatch, trainers must:

  • Maintain current, accurate profile information, including their real first and last name
  • Deal honestly and professionally with clients who contact them
  • Maintain all required certifications, licenses, and insurance
  • Conduct business in compliance with all applicable laws
  • Handle payment and service agreements directly with clients

5.4 Independent Businesses

Trainers operate or are employed by businesses that are independent from TrainerMatch. Trainers use the platform as independent contractors and are not employees, agents, partners, or joint venturers of TrainerMatch. TrainerMatch does not employ trainers, control how they provide services, or participate in agreements between trainers and clients. We are not responsible for the quality, safety, or legality of training services provided.

You alone decide your training methods, prices, schedule, and which clients you accept. Nothing on the platform requires you to unlock any lead or publish any content: there are no posting quotas or minimum activity requirements. You are responsible for your own taxes, insurance, and licenses.

5.5 Blog Content and Community Guidelines

Trainers may publish blog posts on the platform to share their expertise and connect with the fitness community. Blog posts are published immediately without prior approval. We welcome trainers with diverse training styles, backgrounds, and perspectives.

However, we reserve the right to remove blog content at our sole discretion if we determine it contains:

  • Harmful, dangerous, or medically inaccurate fitness advice
  • Promotion of unsafe training practices or eating disorders
  • Harassment, hate speech, discrimination, or threatening content
  • False or misleading health claims
  • Spam, excessive self-promotion, or irrelevant commercial content
  • Plagiarized content or copyright infringement
  • Content that violates any applicable laws or regulations

Trainers who repeatedly violate these guidelines may have their blogging privileges revoked or their accounts terminated. We encourage all trainers to provide evidence-based, helpful, and respectful content that reflects positively on the fitness community.

5.6 Profile Photos

Your profile photo must be a real, recent photo of you that is appropriate for a general audience. It does not need to be professionally taken. The following are not allowed:

  • AI-generated, cartoon, or heavily altered images
  • Casual shirtless photos, such as mirror selfies (bodybuilding or physique competition photos are permitted)
  • Nudity, underwear, or sexually suggestive images
  • Photos of someone else, group photos, or logos in place of a photo of you
  • Offensive, hateful, or illegal content

We may remove any photo, and hide or delete any profile, that does not meet these standards, at our sole discretion and with or without notice.

5.7 Certification Verification

Where a profile shows a certification as verified, it means we checked the certification details the trainer gave us against the certifying organization's records on the date we verified it. It is not an endorsement of the trainer, and it is not a guarantee that the certification is still current. We may ask trainers to re-verify at any time.

6. Your Content

6.1 Ownership and License

"Your content" means anything you submit to the platform, including profile text, photos, blog posts, client stories, and testimonials. You keep ownership of your content.

You grant TrainerMatch a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable license to host, store, reproduce, display, distribute, edit, adapt, format, and promote your content in connection with operating and marketing the platform, in any media, including alongside advertising or sponsored content. Editing and adapting includes things like resizing photos, correcting formatting, shortening text for previews, and sharing excerpts on social media or in emails. We will credit you as the author where we display your blog posts.

6.2 Your Promises About Your Content

You represent and warrant that:

  • You own your content or have all the rights needed to submit it and to grant the license above
  • Your content does not infringe anyone's copyright, trademark, privacy, or publicity rights
  • Where your content names, shows, or describes a client or any other person, including testimonials, success stories, and before-and-after photos, you have that person's written consent to publish it on TrainerMatch and will provide proof if we ask
  • Testimonials and results you share are genuine, and you do not present unusual results as typical
  • Your content is accurate to the best of your knowledge and complies with the guidelines in Section 5

6.3 No Payment for Content

Submitting content, including blog posts, is voluntary. TrainerMatch may, at its discretion, award a promotional lead credit for a trainer's first published blog post. That credit, together with the exposure your content receives on the platform, is the full and complete consideration for your content and the license above. You are not entitled to any payment, royalty, revenue share, or other compensation for content you submit, now or in the future. Promotional credits have no cash value, are not refundable, and may be withdrawn if the post that earned them is removed for violating these Terms.

6.4 When You Leave

If you close your account or it is terminated, we will remove your public profile within 30 days. Blog posts you published may remain on the platform, credited to you, unless you ask us in writing to remove them, in which case we will remove them within 30 days of your request. Copies may remain in backups for a limited time, and we cannot recall content that was shared or copied by others before it was removed.

6.5 Removal

We may remove or decline to display any content at any time, including content we believe violates these Terms or the rights of others.

7. Payment Terms

7.1 Pricing

Current pricing is $12 per lead unlock. Prepaid credit packages may be offered at the prices shown at the time of purchase. We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice to active trainers.

7.2 Payment Processing

All payments are processed securely through Stripe. By making a payment, you agree to Stripe's Terms of Service.

7.3 Refund Policy

Lead purchases are generally final. Refunds or credits may be issued in our sole discretion in cases of:

  • Verified fraudulent or spam leads
  • Technical errors resulting in duplicate charges
  • System failures preventing access to purchased lead information

7.4 Wallet Balance Refunds

Trainers using the prepaid wallet system may request refunds for unused paid credits subject to the following terms:

  • Refundable: Unused lead credits purchased with a payment card that have not been used to unlock leads
  • Non-Refundable: One-time $12 lead unlocks (information already accessed), used wallet credits, and free or promotional credits (such as credits granted by TrainerMatch or earned through platform activities)
  • Order of Use: Free or promotional credits are used before paid credits
  • Processing Time: Refund requests are typically processed within 5-7 business days
  • Refund Method: Refunds will be issued to the original payment method
  • Account Status: Your unused paid credits will be removed from your wallet upon refund completion. Free or promotional credits remain in your wallet.

To request a wallet refund, trainers can submit a request from the Billing page in the Trainer Dashboard. All refund requests are subject to review and approval at our discretion.

8. Prohibited Activities (All Users)

All users are prohibited from:

  • Violating any applicable laws or regulations
  • Infringing on intellectual property rights
  • Transmitting viruses, malware, or harmful code
  • Attempting to gain unauthorized access to the platform
  • Interfering with the platform's operation
  • Scraping or data mining
  • Reverse engineering the platform

9. TrainerMatch Intellectual Property

All content, trademarks, logos, and intellectual property on the platform that was generated by TrainerMatch is owned by TrainerMatch. You may not use, copy, or distribute our content without express written permission.

11. Health and Fitness Disclaimer

Content on TrainerMatch is general fitness information, not medical advice. Trainer profiles and blog posts reflect the views of the trainers who wrote them, not TrainerMatch, and are not a substitute for advice from a doctor or other qualified health professional.

Talk to your doctor before starting any exercise or nutrition program, especially if you are pregnant, injured, or have a medical condition. Exercise carries a risk of injury, and you take part in any training at your own risk. If you think you are having a medical emergency, call your doctor or emergency services immediately.

12. Privacy and Data

Your use of the platform is subject to our Privacy Policy. By using the platform, you consent to our collection and use of your information as described.

13. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE PLATFORM IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.

WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT:

  • The platform will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free
  • The quality of leads will meet your expectations
  • Any particular results or outcomes will be achieved
  • Trainer credentials or qualifications remain accurate or current after the date we verified them, or that information trainers provide about themselves is accurate

14. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, TRAINERMATCH SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE PLATFORM.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIMS ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE PLATFORM SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

15. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless TrainerMatch, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from:

  • Your use of the platform
  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your violation of any third-party rights
  • Content you submit to the platform
  • Any training services provided or received through the platform

16. Termination

You may close your account at any time. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, for any reason, including violation of these Terms. Upon termination:

  • Your access to the platform will cease immediately
  • You remain liable for any outstanding obligations
  • Unused paid wallet credits will be refunded to your original payment method, unless your account was terminated for fraud, abuse, or a serious violation of these Terms. Free or promotional credits and leads already unlocked are not refunded
  • Sections that by their nature should continue (including Sections 6, 10, 13, 14, 15, and 18) remain in effect

17. Modifications to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes by email or by a notice on the platform before they take effect, and we may ask you to accept the updated Terms the next time you sign in. Continued use of the platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

18. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict of laws provisions. The parties agree to exclusive jurisdiction and venue in the state and federal courts of Santa Barbara County, California for the resolution of any dispute arising from or related to this Agreement.
